Missional Community central…

September 9, 2010

Today I had the chance to talk about a gamechanger I’ve experienced in ministry at The Nines conference. There have been a few, but pioneering Missional Communities might be the biggest. For some people in the United States, they are just hearing about MCs; but it’s something we’ve been working with in Europe (and now in the U.S.) for over 20 years.

If you’re unfamiliar with MCs, this Wikipedia article will give a great overview for you.

More importantly, we are just about set to release a new book called Launching Missional Communities: A Field Guide. What we have found is that there are dozens of books available on Missional Communities, but next to none (if any) on how to launch MCs, sustain them, multiply them, disciple people in them, allow a church to see exponential growth through them, etc. In other words, there are lots of books on the theory of MCs. What we’ve tried to do is write a book on how to actually do it.

We are pleased to announce that we have a whole website dedicated to this book (where you can also buy it), which you can find here.

Also, over the next few weeks we’ll be releasing a few excerpts from the book to wet your appetite, with our first one happening yesterday, which you can read here.
